Job opening: Discipline Lead, Mechanics

R. STAHL TRANBERG AS is looking for a structured and experienced mechanical engineer for the R&D department.

Key responsibilities :

  • Mechanical design and construction
  • Project management
  • Product Documentation
  • Testing and assessment of new products
  • Product line responsibility

Key tasks:

  • Mechanical design
  • Materials selection
  • Evaluate production methods
  • Ensuring product and system compliance to relevant standards
  • Coordinate and support multi discipline projects
  • Co-operate with sales and clients for optimal solutions
  • Prepare production / assembly lines
  • Product maintenance
  • Participate in supplier evaluations
  • Prototype design/manufacturing
  • Calculations and simulations

Formal education:

  • + 3 years technical education, E.g within O&G, Maritime sector or Engineering

Experience:

  • Experience with product and system development
  • Experience with standards assessment and implementation
  • Familiar with the relevant European and International approval systems such as ATEX, IECEx, RMRS, CSA, UL, DNV and others
  • Experience with industrialization of products
  • Knowledge of and experience with ERP systems
  • Knowledge of Agile project management considered a strong plus
  • Understanding of LEAN and structured work processes
  • Must have experience with 2d and 3d CAD software – E.g. AutoCAD, Solidworks (Software specific training will be provided if necessary)
