Protecting Equipment in Hazardous Environments
The TRANBERG® TEF 9207 is a globally approved, self-regulating enclosure heater designed to protect electrical, mechanical and electronic equipment from condensation, corrosion and freezing. Built from AISI 316L stainless steel, it is suited for harsh offshore, marine and industrial environments where reliability and low maintenance are essential.
The self-regulating heating element automatically reduces output as ambient temperature rises, preventing overheating and cutting unnecessary energy use. The low-profile design makes it easy to mount inside most standard cabinets and enclosures.
All variants are certified for Zone 1, Zone 2 and Safe Areas (ATEX CML 22ATEX3623X / IECEx CML 22.0096X), with an operational ambient temperature range of −50 °C to +50 °C and IP66 ingress protection.
Choosing the right variant
The TEF 9207 series is available in three configurations:
- With flying lead (100 W–500 W) — for direct termination into an existing Ex e junction box. The simplest and most compact option.
- With Ex e junction box (100 W–1000 W) — supplied with an integrated junction box for self-contained wiring. Includes sandwich bracket versions for higher power outputs (400 W, 600 W, 1000 W).
- With junction box and thermostat (100 W–1000 W) — adds an ambient air sensing thermostat, available in +5 °C or +15 °C switching temperature. The +5 °C version switches on at approx. +3 °C and off at approx. +11 °C; the +15 °C version switches on at approx. +10 °C and off at approx. +20 °C.
The “Sandwich” models (400 W, 600 W, 1000 W) use a double-element construction with mounting brackets to achieve higher power outputs while keeping the heater depth at 80 mm.
