Today, July 4, 2025, marks a significant milestone in Norwegian history, the bicentennial of the first organised emigration to America. In 1825, the sloop Restauration set sail from Stavanger, carrying 52 brave souls seeking new opportunities across the Atlantic.

To commemorate this journey, a meticulously crafted replica of the Restauration has embarked on a symbolic voyage from Stavanger to New York, retracing the original path taken two centuries ago.
The departure ceremony was graced by the presence of Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja, alongside the Crown Prince family, underscoring the voyage’s national significance.
We are honoured to have contributed to this historic endeavour by sponsoring brass lanterns and interior lighting matching the design of the Restauration replica. Our collaboration with the Restauration Venneforening ensures that the vessel not only reflects historical accuracy but also provides a safe and comfortable environment for its crew.

As the Restauration sails once more, we reflect on the courage and determination of those early emigrants and celebrate the enduring ties between Norway and America.
