The TRANBERG® TEF 9179 connection kit brings a Raychem self-regulating heating cable into a wall mounted TEF 1058 heat trace junction box. The wall mounted kit consists of a transition unit M25 with cladding exit plate, silicone grommets matched to the cable size, adaptors for the flexible hose that protects the cable between the pipe insulation and the box, an M25 gland body and lock nut, plus the Raychem C25 termination kit in hot (heat shrink) or cold-applied version. Seven part numbers: hot, cold or without termination, for 5 × 11 mm cables (3BTV, 5BTV, 10QTVR, 15QTVR, XTVR, VPL, HTV), 5 × 15 mm cables (8BTV, 10BTV, 20QTVR, KTV) or with grommets for both sizes.
Application
- Connection of Raychem BTV, QTVR, XTVR, KTV, HTV and VPL heating cables to the wall mounted TEF 1058 heat trace junction box, the end seal termination and the marshalling box
- Hazardous areas zone 1 and 2 and safe area; the kits are covered by the TEF 9178/9179 declaration of conformity and the E204/622 gland certificates

- End seal kit for the far end of the cable: Raychem E-20 (BTV, QTVR) or E-40 (XTVR, HTV, VPL)
Selecting the right kit
Match the cable size first: 5 × 11 mm for 3BTV, 5BTV, 10QTVR, 15QTVR, XTVR, VPL and HTV, 5 × 15 mm for 8BTV, 10BTV, 20QTVR and KTV, or the kit with grommets for both when the cable type is decided later. Then choose HOT when heat-shrink termination is standard on the project and COLD when no heat gun is allowed on site.
