The TRANBERG® TEF 9207 is a globally approved, self-regulating enclosure heater in acid-resistant stainless steel AISI 316L, designed to keep electrical, mechanical and electronic equipment free from condensation, frost and corrosion inside cabinets and enclosures in Zone 1, Zone 2 and safe area. The self-regulating heating element reduces its output as the ambient temperature rises, so the heater cannot overheat and never uses more energy than needed. With IP66 the T3 version also suits enclosures that are not sealed themselves. Developed and manufactured at our own factory.
Three versions, 100 to 1000 W
Choose by how the heater is connected: flying lead (100–500 W) for termination in an existing Ex e junction box, junction box (100–1000 W) with terminals, cable gland and drain plug fitted, or junction box and thermostat with a built-in ambient air thermostat switching at +5 °C or +15 °C. Nominal output is stated at still air and 0 °C. The 400, 600 and 1000 W units are sandwich models with two heating plates.
Application
- Inside equipment enclosures and cabinets, to prevent condensation and provide climatic control
- Frost protection of instruments, electronics and mechanical equipment
- Anti-condensation in Zone 1, Zone 2 and safe area: offshore, marine and industrial installations
Features and benefits
- Self-regulating heating element: output falls as the temperature rises, prevents overheating
- Low profile, easy to fit inside cabinets with four M6 screws
- AISI 316L / EN 1.4404 housing, corrosion-resistant and low maintenance
- IP66, operational ambient temperature −50 °C to +50 °C
- Withstands +80 °C ambient when de-energised

Installation notes
The supply circuit shall include an electrical protection device according to IEC/EN 60079-30-1 clause 4.3. The free end of a flying lead must be terminated in an Ex e junction box. For heaters with a thermostat, use a max. 16 A circuit breaker with a breaking capacity of at least 1500 A. Never install the junction box models with the box facing upwards. Start-up current is higher than nominal current at low temperatures: see the table in the datasheet when sizing the circuit.
Optional thermostat
For the flying lead and junction box versions, an external JUMO ExTherm-AT capillary thermostat (part no. 50295391, datasheet TTD6717, −20 to +50 °C, 230 V AC 16 A) can be supplied. Ask us for a quote together with the heater.
