The TRANBERG® TEF 9209 is the 120 V version of our self-regulating enclosure heater in acid-resistant stainless steel AISI 316L, temperature class T4, for installation inside enclosures rated IP54 or higher in Zone 1, Zone 2 and safe area. It keeps electrical and electronic equipment free from condensation, frost and corrosion, and the self-regulating element reduces its output as the ambient temperature rises, so it cannot overheat. Low profile, four M6 mounting screws, developed and manufactured at our own factory.
Three versions, 50 to 600 W
Choose by connection: flying lead (50–300 W) for termination in an existing Ex e junction box, junction box (100–600 W) with terminals, cable gland and drain plug fitted, or junction box and thermostat with a built-in ambient air thermostat switching at +5 °C or +15 °C. Nominal output is stated at still air and 0 °C. The 600 W unit is a sandwich model with two heating plates. For 230 V, see the TEF 9208 (T4) or TEF 9207 (T3, IP66).

Approvals and certificates
- ATEX, IECEx and UKCA certified: the certificate numbers differ between the three versions, see the datasheet and certificates listed above the table
- User manual TUM7138
Installation notes
The supply circuit shall include an electrical protection device according to IEC/EN 60079-30-1 clause 4.3, sized for an inrush current of four times the nominal current for at least 30 seconds. The free end of a flying lead must be terminated in an Ex e junction box. For heaters with a thermostat, use a max. 16 A circuit breaker with a breaking capacity of at least 1500 A. Never install the junction box models with the box facing upwards.
Optional thermostat
For the flying lead and junction box versions, an external JUMO ExTherm-AT capillary thermostat (part no. 50295391, datasheet TTD6717) can be supplied. Ask us for a quote together with the heater.
