The TRANBERG® TEF 9179 connection kit brings a Raychem self-regulating heating cable into a pipe mounted TEF 1058 heat trace junction box. The pipe mounted kit consists of a brass compression nut M28×1 with a silicone grommet matched to the cable size and an AISI 316 washer, fitted directly in the transition unit of the on-line box, plus the Raychem C25 termination kit in hot (heat shrink) or cold-applied version. Seven part numbers: hot, cold or without termination, for 5 × 11 mm cables (3BTV, 5BTV, 10QTVR, 15QTVR, XTVR, VPL, HTV), 5 × 15 mm cables (8BTV, 10BTV, 20QTVR, KTV) or with grommets for both sizes.
Application
- Connection of Raychem BTV, QTVR, XTVR, KTV, HTV and VPL heating cables to the pipe mounted TEF 1058 heat trace junction box, the end seal termination and the marshalling box
- Hazardous areas zone 1 and 2 and safe area; the kits are covered by the TEF 9178/9179 declaration of conformity and the E204/622 gland certificates

Selecting the right kit
Match the cable size first: 5 × 11 mm for 3BTV, 5BTV, 10QTVR, 15QTVR, XTVR, VPL and HTV, 5 × 15 mm for 8BTV, 10BTV, 20QTVR and KTV, or the kit with grommets for both when the cable type is decided later. Then choose HOT when heat-shrink termination is standard on the project and COLD when no heat gun is allowed on site.
