The TRANBERG® TEF 9968 windsock gives pilots an immediate indication of wind direction and an approximation of wind speed on helidecks, airfields, bridges and industrial sites. Developed and manufactured at the R. STAHL Tranberg factory in Stavanger, the assembly is built from corrosion-resistant materials: all exposed parts are stainless steel AISI 316L and brass, and the bearing for the rotating vane is encapsulated in a solid brass housing. There are no electrical slip rings, and the lit versions use integrated, maintenance-free LEDs.
Four versions, one choice
The versions differ in how the installation is seen after dark. Choose by the helideck you serve: without lights for daylight operation, obstruction lights when the mast itself must be marked at night, internally lit when regulations require an illuminated windsock (IMO, CAA CAP 437, ICAO Annex 14), and IR when the crew fly with night vision goggles. All lit versions are Ex certified for Zone 1, Zone 2 and safe area.

Spare parts
Replacement sleeves in orange or red/white, a complete bearing, mounting flanges for 60.3 mm pipe and a 100–254 V AC to 24 V DC power supply in a TEF 1058 junction box are available; part numbers are in the datasheets. Ask for a quote on any variant to include spare parts.
