The TRANBERG® TEF 105827 ETS is an electronic thermostat with PT100 sensor for controlling self-regulating heating cables in hazardous areas, zone 1, zone 2 and safe area. The set point is adjusted on the controller inside the box, the PT100 sensor with 1.8 m cable is placed on the pipe, and the switching differential is only about 3 °C, so the pipe temperature is held far more precisely than with a capillary thermostat. It is built on the TEF 1058 heat trace junction box in stainless steel AISI 316L, developed and manufactured at the R. STAHL Tranberg factory in Stavanger, in a pipe mounted version for three heating cables and a wall mounted version for two.
Application
- Precise temperature maintenance of process lines and frost protection with heat tracing in hazardous areas
- Chemical and petrochemical industries and industrial plants, according to NORSOK requirements
- Set points up to +199 °C, or up to +499 °C for high-temperature lines
Features and benefits
- PT100 three-wire sensor with 1.8 m cable, hysteresis approx. 3 °C
- Output 1 × NO, 16 A resistive; safe mode selectable with link 3–4 (output off or on)
- Delivered complete with E204/622 M25/D9 gland for power, M20/B2 gland for the sensor, stopping plugs, drain plug and label kit
- Mechanical protection kits and flexible hose for the sensor cable available as accessories

Selecting the right thermostat
Choose the pipe mounted version when the thermostat can sit on the traced pipe and feed three heating cables, or the wall mounted version for installation off the pipe with two heating cables. The 0 to +499 °C version is for high-temperature lines. For simple frost protection without electronics, see the capillary tube thermostats pipe mounted and wall mounted; for networked control with limiter and wireless options, see the TTC2 smart thermostats.
