The TRANBERG® switch box for heat trace cables makes it possible to disconnect the power to one part of the installation during maintenance, without switching off the whole heat tracing circuit. It is built on the R. STAHL 8150 series Ex de enclosure in brushed stainless steel AISI 316L with lockable 16 A safety switches, delivered with drain plug and temporary plugs, and equipped at the R. STAHL Tranberg factory in Stavanger. Typical use is on pressure safety valves and other equipment with frequent maintenance in a heat-traced pipeline.
Application
- Switching local power to heat trace cables on and off during maintenance of safety valves and similar equipment
- Hazardous areas, zone 1, zone 2 and safe area
- One circuit, one circuit feeding two heating cables in parallel, or three separate circuits
Features and benefits
- Lockable safety switches, 16 A, two-pole
- Safe technology: Ex db switch actuators in an Ex eb terminal enclosure
- Easy installation with pre-drilled entries; temporary plugs are replaced with glands or stopping plugs before installation
- Heating cables up to 64 W/m

Selecting the right box
Choose the single-switch box for one heating cable, the parallel version when two heating cables are fed from the same switch, and the three-switch box when three circuits must be isolated separately. Heating cables are connected with the connection kit for wall mounting; local distribution to several circuits is handled by the TEF 1058 marshalling box.
