TEF 4600 Integrated Helideck Light Control

The TRANBERG® TEF 4600 Integrated Helideck Light Control consolidates all helideck lighting control into a single, purpose-built cabinet — eliminating the complexity, cost and footprint of running separate control systems for each light type. Designed and manufactured by R. Complete Control of All Helideck Lighting
The TEF 4600 connects to and controls every light type on the helideck from one central system: perimeter lights, floodlights, Circle & H touchdown and positioning marking (TD/PM) lights, obstruction lights, illuminated windsocks and status lights. Operators can switch individual light groups on or off, or dim them as required — all from an intuitive pre-programmed touchscreen interface. Additional remote push-button panels with integrated illumination allow local deck control in full synchronisation with the main display.

Zone 1 and Non-Ex Versions — One System for Any Installation
Unlike conventional helideck control systems, the TEF 4600 is available in both Zone 1 hazardous area (ATEX/IECEx certified) and non-Ex configurations. For Zone 1 installations, the system utilises a certified R. STAHL EXicom MT-498 operator panel. This makes the TEF 4600 one of very few fully integrated helideck control systems on the market that can be specified without modification for both safe-area control rooms and explosive atmosphere environments on offshore oil and gas platforms, FPSOs and drilling rigs.

Reduced Installation Complexity and Maintenance
By bringing all control gear into a single cabinet, the TEF 4600 dramatically simplifies cabling, commissioning and ongoing maintenance. Combined with TRANBERG’s advanced LED helideck lighting fixtures — which are rated for a minimum of 50,000 working hours — operators can expect an installation requiring an absolute minimum of scheduled inspections. The result is significantly lower lifetime operating costs compared to traditional multi-cabinet helideck control architectures.

Connectivity and Integration
The TEF 4600 supports a wide range of supervisory connectivity options, making it compatible with both legacy installations and modern integrated ship systems:

• Ethernet connection for touchscreen operator panels
• Modbus TCP/IP for SCADA and supervisory control system integration
• Profibus and similar industrial standards
• Optional HMS integration for direct input from the Helideck Landing Officer (HLO)
• Optional SCADA integration enabling remote control from bridge, control room or shore

This level of integration makes the TEF 4600 well suited for modern offshore assets where helideck operations must be coordinated with broader vessel or platform management systems, including remote monitoring and third-party helicopter pilot control interfaces.
